Welcome to the Meredith Inn, a lovely eight-bedroom bed & breakfast located in the heart of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region.
The Meredith Inn is a smoke-free property. All rooms have private bathrooms, individual heat control, air conditioners in the summer, smart TVs and wifi. A full cooked breakfast is served each morning.
The Meredith Inn is a pleasant stroll from the town’s busy artisans’ shops and excellent restaurants. It is within walking distance of Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Waukewan, and a short drive from Squam Lake. These large, pristine lakes and the surrounding areas offer a complete range of aquatic activities and seasonal events, including festivals, theatre, craft shows, stunning fall leaves, ice-fishing contests and the year-round beauty of being the gateway to the White Mountains.
The Meredith Inn was built in 1897 by Dr Frederick Hawkins, a prominent local physician. It served as a home for his family as well as his clinic. Located on the corner of Main Street and Waukewan Street, the inn was a bold example of the Victorian architecture popular at that time.
In 1997, restoration began to transform the old house into a bed and breakfast. After 11 months and a careful approach by many skilled tradesmen, the home was turned into the elegant Meredith Inn you see today.
The Meredith Inn started its life more than 100 years ago as a Victorian dwelling on Main Street in historic Meredith, NH.
